DARIEN, Conn. -- Two Darien teens were injured on Monday when a tree fell on them in Woodland Park, according to the Darien Times.

The Darien Times reported that the two 18-year-old Darien High School students were in the park after completing the first day of senior internships and were walking on a small trail on West Avenue when the tree fell on them. One of the students suffered minor bruises and lacerations, while the other suffered much more serious injuries, including broken ribs and a spinal injury, according to the Darien Times. That student remains hospitalized, the Darien Times reported.

Several people witnessed the incident and flagged down the Stamford and Darien first responders who arrived on the scene, according to the Darien Times. The tree in question has not yet been removed, the Darien Times reported.
