DARIEN, Conn. The Darien police will be conducting a drunken-driving sobriety checkpoint Saturday night. The checkpoint will be set up on Post Road near Richmond Drive.
Police will begin conducting the checkpoint at about 10 p.m. It will last into the early hours of Sunday. In the event of bad weather or other unforeseen road issues, the checkpoint will be held on Post Road near Ledge Road.
Drivers will be stopped temporarily and asked a series of questions to determine whether additional sobriety testing is needed. Disruptions to the driving public will be minimal, police said.
