DARIEN, Conn. A Darien woman was arrested at her home on Edgerton Street after getting in a fight with her mom. The 30 year-old woman was upset that her mother had taken her alcohol out of her bedroom and, in a fit of rage, she destroyed the kitchen, police said.
She used a wet-dry vacuum cleaner to break the glass on top of the oven and dent the fridge during the Sunday incident, police said.
The mother called the police, who came and arrested her daughter. The daughter had a protective order against her, stating that she was not to be disruptive or abusive. She was charged with disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and violation of a protective order. She was released on a $500 bond and went to court the next day.

A snowplow was stolen out of a parking lot on Thorndal Circle. Maintenance workers had used it to clear snow after the Halloween snowstorm and left it in the lot. On the morning of Nov. 2, they noticed that it was gone. The snowplow is estimated to be worth $5,000. Last month, a lawnmower was stolen out of the same parking lot.
