DARIEN, Conn. The House of Needlepoint in Darien is expanding after more than 20 years of business. The shop specializing in needlepoint canvases and stitching supplies will be moving into a larger space next to its current location at 839 Post Road.
Owners Kim Kernan and Beth Crump have owned the shop for almost five years and are happy about moving into a larger space while staying in the same block.
Its the best of both worlds, said Kernan. We can stay in our desirable location but have additional space to display more merchandise. We know our existing customers will love the larger shop with more space to display canvases and the ability to carry new fibers. Hopefully we will attract new customers with our updated shop and new website, which will be launched soon.
Crump said that with so many surrounding towns renting to large chain stores, We are elated to continue with our small business, which has served Darien and surrounding towns for over 20 years. We have customers who come from New York City, Rye, Chappaqua, even Long Island to shop with us.
The shop will be moving over Memorial Day weekend and will be open for business on Tuesday, May 29 at 10 a.m.
