Jason Bazinet, 21, of Trumbull was arrested on Monday, April 25 on drug charges after a car crash on Mansfield Avenue. Police received a call of a car driving erratically on Mansfield, crossing the double yellow line and at one point coming within inches of a pedestrian.
A few minutes later, an officer working the corner of Mansfield and Post Road saw Bazinet crash his car. Bazinet had glassy eyes and slurred speech and told the officer he was "buzzed." He failed a field sobriety test, and when the officers were checking his car they found four small white bags containing heroin. Bazinet said he wasn't sure what it was, but that he had bought it two weeks prior in Bridgeport. He was charged with possession of narcotics, posted a $250 bond and is due in court Thursday, May 5.
