Former News Anchor Rob Morrison Arrested In Darien Again

Updated: DARIEN, Conn. -- Former New York WCBS-TV news anchor Rob Morrison was arrested in Darien on Monday on charges of violating a protective order against his estranged wife, according to police.

Morrison, 46, of Stamford was charged with criminal violation of a protective order and second-degree harassment. He was released on $50,000 bond and appeared in court Tuesday.

The charges stem from a complaint that Rob Morrison had called his wife, television journalist Ashley Morrison, more than 100 times over the course of several days in May, police said.

The calls were made to both her Darien home and her cellphone, police said, and were in violation of a protective order his wife has against him.

A warrant was issued for Morrison's arrest, and he turned himself in at Darien police headquarters Monday.

Morrison had been arrested in February 2013 after police said he tried to choke his wife at their Darien home during an argument. Officers had previously been called to the Morrison home on reports of him choking his wife, police said, but no charges were filed in that incident. Following his arrest, Morrison resigned as a morning news anchor for WCBS-TV.

The choking charges against him were dropped in April 2014 after he completed a court program for people charged in domestic disputes.
