GREENWICH, Conn. — Hope Hicks, a 2006 graduate of Greenwich High school and a close confidante of President Donald Trump, is the new interim communications director at the White House, according to the Washington Post.

Hicks will fill the role while the administration searches for a permanent replacement for Anthony Scaramucci, who was fired last month after just 10 days on the job, according to the Post.

Hicks will work with White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders and will assist with the search for the replacement, the Post said.

Hicks, 28, has been in the spotlight since serving as Trump's press secretary during the campaign and currently is the president's director of strategic communications.

A former teen model, Hicks has been profiled in the New York Times, The Washington Post, GQ,  Town and Country and a host of other national publications.

She was co-captain of the lacrosse team at Greenwich High and played lacrosse all four years at the club level at Southern Methodist.

Hicks worked at Hiltzik Strategies, a powerful public relations firm that represents Hollywood clients and corporate executives. She then went to work for Ivanka Trump, the president's daughter, and her luxury jewelry lines and Trump's real estate holdings. She was asked to join the campaign staff in early 2015.

Her father and grandfather also worked in public relations. Paul B. Hicks III was the right-hand man of NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, and also worked as the CEO for Ogilvy Public Relations as their U.S. lead. Her late grandfather, Paul Hicks, was a vice president and general manager of public relations for Texaco.
