DARIEN, Conn. — With 585 customers still without power in Darien as of 2 p.m. Thursday, Connecticut Light & Power did not have an estimate on when it might be restored.

"We do not have any restoration estimates at this time," said Frank Poirot of CL&P. "We have every available crew out working to repair damage caused by this morning's high winds."

The 585 customers represent 7 percent of the CL&P customers in town. This is down from 1,050 customers, or 13 percent, without power earlier in the day. Gusty winds of up to 50 mph are expected throughout Thursday, and a high wind advisory remains in effect, according to the National Weather Service.
