David Sabini, 25, of Oak Park Avenue, was arrested last Thursday on charges stemming from a motorcycle accident in August. Sabini was charged with driving while intoxicated, operating an unregistered vehicle, speeding, passing on the right and operating a motorcycle without a motorcycle license.
In August, an officer spotted Sabini driving erratically north on Noroton Avenue. The officer gave chase but lost sight of him, eventually finding the crashed motorcycle about a quarter-mile away on Middlesex Avenue. The motorcycle had hit a tree and a stonewall. The officer detected a strong odor of alcohol. Sabini sustained multiple injuries and was taken to Stamford Hospital. Police obtained a search warrant for Sabini's blood, and found that his blood alcohol level was above the legal limit. A warrant was issued for his arrest, and Sabini turned himself in. He was released on a promise to appear in court Nov. 9.
