Scientists have long believed it was not a question of "if" we find evidence of life in the universe, but rather "when" we find it. NASA Chief Scientist Ellen Stofan believes indications of extraterrestrial life will be found within the next 10 years and that definitive proof could come within 20, The Washington Post reported.
One of the strongest indications to date came in a study released Wednesday that revealed the discovery of complex molecules that are used for amino acids near a young and still forming star system, The Washington Post said.
