Everyone knows the homemade dish their mother cooks best; what she did when you weren’t feeling well; and how she would comfort you when you cried. Mother’s Day is the time to celebrate everything that moms do for you and Nielsen’s Florist wants to help celebrate one special mom, as nominated by her own children.
Nielsen’s Florist invites all children, 18 and under, to submit a short essay (500 words or less) and tell them why your mom is the best. Based on these entries, one lucky mom will win a year of flowers, hand delivered each month, to her Darien home.
Last year’s winner, Veronica Scribano, will help judge this year’s entries.
“Having flowers delivered to my house at the start of each month was such a treat. The colorful bouquets put a smile on my face and reminded me to be appreciative of each day. When the flowers arrived, I would always hug my son Sam and thank him,” Scribano said.
As an extra little bonus, the “Best Mom in Darien” will also have a floral arrangement named after her for the year.
