Pauline Ellis Hornik, 90, IBM And Electrolux Computer Supervisor

NORWALK, Conn. - Pauline Ellis Hornik, of Norwalk and formerly of Darien, died March 8, 2013. She was 90.

Hornik was born in Plymouth, England, on June 25, 1922, a daughter of Violet Willcocks Ellis and Reginald Ellis. She came to the United States when she was 16 months old and lived in Darien.

As a graduate of Darien High School and IBM Business College, she worked for IBM in New York City and later for Electrolux in Old Greenwich as a supervisor of the computer division, during the early days of business computing. After her marriage, she was given property by her parents to build a home in West Norwalk, where she and her husband, Joseph lived for the rest of their lives. 

Hornik was predeceased by her husband; and a brother, Clifton W. Ellis, of Darien.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 14, 10:30 a.m., at Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery.
