DARIEN, Conn. -- A train bound for New York City was able to stop in time when a person walked onto the tracks in Darien at 5:25 a.m. Friday, a Metro-North spokesman said.

Meredith Daniels said the individual was taken into custody by MTA Police. She had no further information on the person or whether any charges were filed. It was not clear why the person was on the tracks.

The 4:05 a.m. train from New Haven to New York was delayed for about 20 minutes during the incident, Daniels said.
