Radiators Stolen From Darien House

DARIEN, Conn. – Radiators were reported stolen from a house undergoing renovations on Old Kings Highway North on Monday, Sept. 12. The house was destroyed by a fire in February and is being cleaned and restored.

The owner noticed the 12 castiron radiators were missing from the side porch Sept. 2. He knew the radiators were slated to be taken to be cleaned and painted, and he assumed the construction foreman had removed them. When the foreman arrived at work Monday and noticed they were gone, they called police.

Also from the police blotter:

• Maria Perez, 43, of Norwalk, was arrested Wednesday, Sept. 14, after allegedly not returning a rented car. She was driving the 2011 Chevy Impala on the Post Road when an officer's license plate reader indicated the car was stolen. Perez rented the car in West Virginia and was supposed to return the car in Norwalk on June 10 but never did. She was charged with second-degree larceny by possession. She was held on $10,000 bond and went to court later that day.

• A wallet was reported stolen Monday, Sept. 12, after a woman dropped it at Bertucci's in Darien. The woman had been in the restaurant on the night of Sept. 9 when she dropped the wallet while placing it in her backpack. She went back the next day and asked employees about it, but nobody had seen it. The wallet contained $200 in cash and a number of credit cards, which have not been used.
