Renters Rebate Program Available To Darien Residents

DARIEN, Conn. – Disabled town residents and senior citizens could qualify for the Renters Rebate Program through the Darien Department of Human Services.

The program will run through Oct. 1, and requires that the applicant be either 65 years old as of Dec. 31, 2014, or receiving Social Security disability benefits.

Applicants must have lived in Connecticut for at least one year.

Annual income for a single person cannot exceed $34,600; married couples can earn a maximum of $42,200 each year.

The Renters Rebate Program requires full documentation of rent expenses, utility payments, and income from all sources (pensions, dividends, wages, interest on bank accounts, etc.)
