Sandy Hook Father Speaks Out Against Trump

NEWTOWN, Conn. -- Mark Barden -- whose son was murdered in the Sandy Hook mass shooting -- expressed his disgust that Donald Trump would take advice from Alex Jones, who's argued that the shooting was actually faked, according to the Daily Beast.

Mark Barden, the father of a 7-year-old Sandy Hook victim, introduces President Barack Obama at the White House earlier this year.

Jones is the host of the internet program "Infowars," and he's pushed a number of conspiracies over the years, including birtherism and that the U.S. government is directly responsible for the 9/11 attacks.

Barden said he's disgusted the presidential nominee is taking advice from the conspiracy theorist, according to the Daily Beast.

Barden is the parent of one of the 20 children killed at Sandy Hook on Dec. 12, 2012. His son Daniel was only 7.

Jones continues to assert that the massacre was a hoax, and that the victims were actors.

Trump has apparently not confirmed that Jones is an adviser, but the "Infowars" host has bragged that he is, as the Daily Beast and others have reported.

Trump also appeared on Jones' show last December and said, "Your reputation's amazing. I will not let you down."

You can watch that interview here. That statement is near the end.

In the time since the shooting, Barden and other parents founded Sandy Hook Promise, which teaches schools and others to identify at-risk people and teach gun safety, as well as advocate for legislation to reduce gun violence.
