DARIEN, Conn. -- Lynn Carnegie, founder of local test prep company Carnegie Pollak, will be giving a presentation at the Depot Darien Youth Center about how to navigate the changing landscape of standardized testing on Tuesday, Jan. 26.
"There are so many questions parents don’t even know to ask about this process, especially with the changes to the SAT and ACT this year," Carnegie says. "My presentations will give an overview of the testing options to help create a plan and make the whole process less daunting."
As high school juniors receive their PSAT scores this month, many will face the decision of whether to prepare for the ACT this spring or the redesigned SAT. Both of these college admission tests are undergoing changes this year.
The ACT’s writing test underwent a major overhaul as of fall 2015. And now the SAT’s curriculum and scoring are changing as of March 2016 to better mirror the Common Core standards. Planning ahead can help alleviate the stress associated with the testing process.
Carnegie Pollak has been preparing Fairfield County students for standardized tests for more than 30 years. Visit its website for more information.
