There will be lots of autumn-themed activities in Darien this weekend for kids to enjoy, including haunted houses, bobbing for apples, face-painting and crafts. On Saturday, the Tokeneke Pumpkin Carnival will be held at Tokeneke Elementary School from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The annual event features rides, games, the haunted house, raffles, and rock-climbing. Raffle prizes include a kayak, a birthday party for 10 at Sono Field House and a BMW children's pedal car. All proceeds from the event help Tokeneke School enrichment programs.
Sunday is the 14th Annual Darien Family Fun Day at the YMCA. The event is hosted by the Holly Pond School and features such childrens activities as pony rides, games, a magic show, face-painting and mini golf. There will also be food and a silent auction, where people can bid on themed gift baskets created by Holly Pond School students and parents. The event will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Tickets are $25 per family.
