Darien's Domestic Violence Task Force knows that education is the key to helping victims of abuse. That's why the group organizes monthly talks to help the women and children of Darien how they can get help in domestic violence cases. This month, Kathy Bella, social worker supervisor from the Stamford office of the Department of Child and Family Services will talk to the task force about how children can get help through DCFS.
"Domestic violence can have disastrous effect on children," said task force chair Carol Piscitelli. "It's not just physical. It can cause emotional, psychological, financial or even sexual damage." are required to report any incidents of domestic abuse with children involved to DCFS. Bella will explain what the agency does, and how families can contact DCFS for help. She will speak at the meeting on Wednesday, July 21 starting at 10 a.m. at Town Hall, Room 206.
