Two vehicles were stolen early last week and only one has been recovered. The first was a 2004 Honda CRF250 motorcycle taken sometime between March 4 and 7. The red and white bike was being kept in a shed at a private residence on Post Road. It was reported to be worth $4,000.
The second was a Toyota Rav4 belonging to a teacher at Hindley Elementary School. The car was taken from the school parking lot last Wednesday afternoon. The teacher parked his car near the basketball court at noon, and when he returned later it was gone. Police found shattered glass on the ground near where the car was parked. They received a call from the NYPD later that day saying the car had been recovered in the Bronx. Two people were arrested in New York and charged with taking the car.
Also from the police blotter:
A car was broken into last Thursday in the parking lot of St. Luke's Parish. The owner parked the 2008 Lexus RX350 in the front lot at 12:25 p.m. and returned at 1 to find the front passenger window smashed. All that was missing was a black leather Lexus case kept in the glove compartment. This is the third Lexus RX350 hit by thieves in the last month. One was stolen from the Grove Street municipal lot, and another was broken into in the same lot, though the only thing taken was the owner's manual.
