DARIEN, Conn. Darien will be bustling this Independence Day with the return of the Fourth of July Fireworks at Darien High School on Sunday night and the annual YWCA Push-N -Pull Parade on Monday morning. Both of these events are likely to draw big crowds, so traffic and parking will be complicated
For the fireworks: Cars will be able to enter Darien High School starting at 6 p.m., Darien Police say. All traffic will enter through Noroton Avenue. Parking will be allowed on both sides of Nutmeg Lane, facing Hollow Tree Ridge Road, and on both sides of High School Lane, facing Middlesex Road. There will be parking on Holly Lane only on the south side, facing Middlesex Road, and only on the west side of Libby Lane, facing Middlesex Road.
More than 30 police officers will be stationed at various points around the high school to help direct traffic. No alcohol is allowed on school property and anyone tampering with or removing "No Parking" signs will be arrested, police say.
On Monday, the Push-N-Pull Parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Goodwives Shopping Center , proceeding up Brookside Road and turning left onto Post Road. It will then proceed up to West Avenue, where it will turn right and end at Tilley Park. Post Road will be closed from Brookside Road to West Avenue.
