DARIEN, Conn. Thieves took winning lottery tickets from an unlocked car on Anthony Lane on Wednesday, Oct. 5.
Missing items included $85 worth of lottery winnings as well as three or four gift cards from the center console. Police estimated the total value of the stolen goods to be between $160 and $185. The thieves left several other valuables, including a wallet, a Barnes & Noble git card and a GPS unit.

A dog bit a worker at a home on Sunswyck Road on Thursday, Oct. 6. The worker was remodeling the bathroom of the home when he left the house to get equipment from his truck. The homeowners dog, described as black in color and resembling a golden retriever, lunged at the worker and bit him on the right hamstring, police said. The man was treated for his injury at Greenwich Hospital, and police say the case will be followed up by the animal control officer.
