DARIEN, Conn. - Eleanor J. Powell, a resident of Darien and a former Stamford resident, died Monday, June 2. She was 87.
Powell was born May 2, 1927, in Pittsfield, Mass., the daughter of Arthur and Irene Hunt.
She worked as governess for Andy Rooney. She was a member of Union Memorial Church in Stamford and belonged to the 60 Plus Club.
Powell is survived by her husband, Harold J. Powell of Darien; and sons, Todd Powell of Pittsfield and Glen J. Powell of Norwalk. She was predeceased by her parents.
Calling hours are Thursday, June 5, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 6, at Union Memorial Church, 58 Church St., Stamford.
