Gail Hadsell, 68, Lifelong Stamford Resident Worked At CVS In Darien

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Gail A. Hadsell, 68, died Sunday, Feb. 15, after a long battle with cancer.

Hadsell was born Oct. 11, 1946,  the younger of two daughters born to the late John Joseph Grassi and Edith Tozzoli Grassi.

 A lifelong Stamford resident, Gail graduated from Rippowam High School in 1964, after which she worked at The History Book Club as a keypunch operator for 14 years. She then worked another 12 years at F.W. Woolworth and was hired by CVS in Darien in 1995.

Hadsell is survived by her husband, Jim; her daughters, Amy (David Tiani) and Melissa and her fiancé, Sammy Hanna; three grandchildren, Mackenzie Lynn, David Joseph and Taylor Ryan Tiani; her cousin, Jerry; and many other cousins. 

She was predeceased by her aunts, Anita "Toes" Tozzoli Lanterna and Helen Tozzoli, who raised Gail when her parents died young. She was also predeceased by her sister, Carolyn Grassi.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Feb.19, from 4-8 p.m. at Shippan's Thomas M. Gallagher Funeral Home, (next to Knights of Columbus) 453 Shippan Ave., Stamford. A Mass will be celebrated Friday, Feb. 20, at 11 a.m. at St. Maurice Church, 358 Glenbrook Road, Stamford.
