WILTON/DARIEN, Conn. - Hugh Cleland "Jerry' Brewer, Jr., formerly of Wilton and Darien, Twin Bridges, Montana, and Ocala, Fla., died Sept. 13. He was 89.
Brewer graduated from Taft school in 1942 and attended Harvard College. He served in World War II, 75th Infantry Division, and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. His banking career began at First National City Bank (Citibank), where he worked for nearly 30 years; he retired in 1989 from the Bankers Trust Company. He was also a private pilot.
Brewer is survived by his children, Hugh Cleland Brewer III, Daryln Brewer Hoffstot, Jeffrey Stott Brewer, Jennifer Brewer Giem and David Mitchell Brewer; and 12 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Diana Burkett Brewer.
