DARIEN, Conn. - Mario Cupo of Darien died March 3. He was 81.
Cupo was born April 3, 1931 in Selvacava, Italy. He was the son of Luigi and Maria Indovinato Cupo. He moved to the U.S. in 1956 and settled in New York City. He later moved with his family to Darien.
Cupo began a 32 year career with Pitney Bowes while also working at the Ferguson Library.
Cupo is survived by his wife Maria; two daughters, Mary Grace (Kenneth) Palmer of Trumbull and LuAnn (Josh) Levine of Norwalk; five grandchildren; two sisters, Anna Graniero and Antonietta Palombo of Italy; and nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are Wednesday, March 6, from 4 to 8 p.m. in Norwalk’s Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall St. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 7, 10:30 a.m. in St. Thomas More Church, 374 Middlesex Road, Darien. Entombment will follow in St. John’s Mausoleum, Norwalk.
