Francesconi was born Sept. 12, 1920, in Palermo, Sicily, to James and Antonina (Raiata) LoCicero. She came to the United States in 1923 and lived in Stamford. She was a resident of Darien since 1947. She graduated from Stamford High School in 1938. She worked for the City of Stamford in the legal department and then retired after working in the health department. She also worked for Westover Nurseries and Shick both in Stamford and for the FBI in New York during the beginning of World War II. She worked for Pitney Bowes in Stamford in the 1940s and early 1950s.
She was a member of the Stamford Municipal Employees Association, including serving as an officer, a member of AARP and a member of the Darien Senior Center. She was a parent volunteer with the Noroton Heights Fire Department Fife and Drum Corps and the Stamford Police Athletic League Silver Falcons Color Guard.
Francesconi is survived by her children, Lynn Francesconi Fieselmann (Ben), of Bridgewater, N.J., Jane McCamish (James), of Walnut Creek, Calif. Ellen Konitshek (Dean), of El Cajon, Calif., and Peter Francesconi (Cynthia), of Woodbury; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sisters, Frances Amico, Helen LoCicero and Adeline Veneziano all of Stamford; and brother, James LoCicero of Columbia, S.C. She was predeceased by her parents; and husband, Orlando Francesconi.
Calling hours are Monday, Dec. 15 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16 at St. Thomas More R. C. Church, 374 Middlesex Road, Darien. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery in Darien.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P. O. Box 1000, Department 142, Memphis.
