Richard William Sienkiewicz, 71, Former Darien Resident

PETERBOROUGH, N.H. - Richard "Dick" William Sienkiewicz Jr. of Peterborough, formerly of Darien, died Saturday, Nov. 30. He was  71.

Sienkiewicz was born Dec. 14, 1941, in Darien, to Richard and Eleanor Sienkiewicz. He graduated from Darien High School in 1960 and received a BS in Printing Management and Journalism from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 1969. He was married to Rosemary Capocci in 1968, and they lived together in Darien, Conn., before relocating to Duluth, Minn. After his divorce he moved to Duluth in 2011 and then to live with his brother and sister in Peterborough.

Sienkiewicz worked at Harcourt Brace, Edgell, and Advanstar Communications in Duluth before transferring to become Vice President of Davidson Printing Company until he retired in 2002. He served as president of the Duluth-Superior Craftsman's Club. He was a member of The Moose Lodge in West Duluth, serving on the Ritual Team. He was a member of St. Michael's Church in Duluth and Divine Mercy of Peterborough.

Sienkiewicz is survived by his children, Marc (Rachel), of Superior, Wis., and Curt of Jacksonville, Fla.; brother, Bob of Peterborough; sisters, Karen (Ken) Defriesse of Redding, Conn., Janet (Fred) Storey of West Hartford, Conn., and Nancy Nelson of Peterborough. He was predeceased by his parents.

A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4 at St. John's Church in Darien. A memorial service will also be held in Duluth with the date to be announced at a later time.
