Martinelli was born July 8, 1935, in Stamford; son of Wanda Perito Sciglimpaglia. He was manager of State Line Tire Company of Stamford for many years before his retirement and was a graduate of Stamford High School, class of 1954. He served in the Army from 1955 to 1957 during peacetime in Europe.
Martinelli is survived by his wife, Marian Ragonesi Martinelli; children, Lori Bantle (Bob) of Cos Cob, Susan Whaley of Rhode Island , Robert D. Martinelli of Darien; and three grandchildren. He was predeceased by his mother, Wanda.
Calling hours are Friday, Dec. 20 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. John’s RC Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, Darien.
