DANBURY, Conn. - Salvatore "Sam" Natale of Danbury died Monday, Sept. 2. He was 84.
Natale was born Jan. 22, 1929, in Danbury, son of Francis and Margaret (Barbarotto) Natale. He
began working at an early age at Gillotti & Sons on Liberty Street as a butcher. He served in the United States Army as a cook from 1947 to 1948. He recently retired from Dandy Distributors after 38 years of working as a warehouse manager. He was a member of Saint Gregory the Great Church in Danbury. He was also a member of the Catholic War Veterans.
Natale is survived by his wife, Ann Marie (Rodrigues); daughter, Donna Kaplanis (Nick); son, David Natale, all of Danbury; two grandchildren; brother, Ronald Natale of Oklahoma; sisters, Marie Landolfi of Rhode Island, Rita Casey (Charles) of New Fairfield, Lucille Hrabcsak (Rudy) of Danbury; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Sylvester, Ralph, Michael, Henry and Robert Natale; and sister, Patricia Pannozzo.
Calling hours are Thursday, Sept. 5 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Green Funeral home on 57 Main St., in Danbury. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6 at Saint Gregory the Great Church. Interment will follow at Saint Peter's Cemetery in Danbury.
