Services Set For Gerald LaBlanc Of Stamford, Retired Fire Dept. Captain

STAMFORD, Conn. — Services have been set for retired Stamford Fire Department Capt. Gerald LaBlanc, a lifelong Stamford resident who died Oct. 2. He was 87.

LaBlanc was born Nov. 17, 1929, in Stamford to the late Dennis and Dolores Leblanc.

A devoted father and husband, LaBlanc is survived by his wife, Dolores (Boshka) LaBlanc. He was predeceased by his daughter, Lisa, and his brothers, Robert LeBlanc and Dennis LaBlanc.

LaBlanc was a Stamford firefighter for many years, rising through the ranks to captain. He retired after being seriously injured in a major fire due to a chemical explosion. He was an avid fisherman who also enjoyed woodworking as a hobby.

Above all, LaBlanc was a dedicated family man. He cherished his wife and daughter as well as his brothers, brother-in-law and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, Oct. 6, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Bosak Funeral Home at 453 Shippan Ave. in Stamford.

A Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Oct. 7, at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Bridget of Ireland Church, 278 Strawberry Hill Ave., Stamford. Interment will immediately follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 35 Parsonage Road, Greenwich.
