DARIEN, Conn. - Sophie K. Lougee of Darien died Sept. 24. She was 93.
Lougee was born Sept. 26, 1919, in Stamford, daughter of Panerata and James Kakunes. She was a longtime resident of Darien. She volunteered at the Church of the Archangels and Meals on Wheels for many years.
Lougee is survived by her daughter, Barbara Lougee of San Diego, Calif.; a grandson; and two great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Richard G. Lougee; son, Richard Lougee, Jr.; and five siblings.
Calling hours are at 12 p.m. Oct. 1 at the Church of the Archangels, 1527 Bedford St., Stamford followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. in the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Church of the Archangels or Meals on Wheels Association of America.
