DARIEN, Conn. - Steven "Steve" W. Diehl of Darien and Trumbull died May 3. He was 69.

Diehl was born in Elizabethtown, N.Y., Feb. 28, 1944, son of Everett Diehl and Annette Larsen Diehl. He graduated from Greenwich High school and served in the US Air Force. He was an airplane mechanic in Okinawa, Japan. He owned Ace Lock and Lawnmower in Darien for 15 years. After closing of his store, he held a few different jobs. His last two being a school bus driver for the Town of New Canaan and working at Hiller Sports in Norwalk.

Diehl is survived by his wife, Maureen; children Brian (Kimberly), Sean and Catherine "Katie"; and a grandchild.  He was predeceased by his parents; and brother, Curtis.

Calling Hours will be Tuesday, May 7 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home 2119 Post Road, Darien CT 06820. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 8 at 11 a.m. at the Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society , 38 Richards Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06854.
