William (Bill) Slinsky Sr., 72, Of Darien

DARIEN, Conn. – William (Bill) Slinsky Sr., a resident of Darien since 1965, died Sunday, March 8, 2015. He was 72.

Born June 28, 1942 in Stamford, he was the son of Martin and Viola (Toth) Slinsky.

Slinsky graduated from Stamford High School in 1958. He was a partner with the Stamford Auto Mart and A Tin Lizzy Car Rental. Slinsky was a parishioner of St. John Roman Catholic Church in Darien. He was a special policeman in Darien for seven years, a deputy sheriff for Fairfield County for 10 years and a constable in Darien for eight years. He also was a bus driver/supervisor for CT Bus Company for 20 years.

He is survived by two brothers; four nephews; two nieces; two grandsons; two great-granddaughters; and Rocky, the cat. He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Slinsky, in 2014 and a son, Billy Slinsky.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John R. C. Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien. Interment will be private.
