To the editor:
Saturday was a sunny and brisk day for the 50th Annual Tokeneke Pumpkin Carnival and our supportive Darien community came out in droves, making the day a tremendous success.
We are grateful to our event sponsors, The Darien Sport Shop, East Coast Irrigation, Newman’s Own, Darien Rowayton Bank, Darien News, Speed Printing & Graphics, Inc., Heights Pizza, Fox Hill Builders, Dr. Osherow, Deane, Meatball & Co., Burgers, Shakes & Fries, The Studio, Stew Leonards and Kempo Academy for supporting the Tokeneke PTO with their contributions.
Special thanks to our food vendors who provided delicious options to our hungry carnival goers - Heights Pizza, Burgers Shakes & Fries, Meatball & Co. Upper Crust Bakery & Café and Newman’s Own were all fabulous! The Tokeneke Pumpkin Carnival requires more than 600 hours of volunteer staffing.
Many thanks to the event committee chairs and the Tokeneke school parent, teacher and student volunteers. Extra special thanks go to the Darien Depot, Noroton Presbyterian Church and St. Thomas More teenagers for their help volunteering during the event. These young men and women showed their reliability and responsibility throughout the day and were a pleasure to work with.
Thank you to the entire community for an outstanding event. We look forward to the next 50 years.
Sincerely,
Sara Goertel, Co-Chair Lori Slotkin, Co-Chair Kim Sullivan, Co-Chair
