To the editor:

Duke Dineen and I have been friends ever since our children met 13 years ago. Our two families have become especially close, since we share a common bond of a child in Special Education.

Duke’s compassion for his family and others is always apparent. Whether it be serving on the Darien volunteer fire department or simply leading a pack of kids down a ski slope-- Duke is always big-hearted, understanding and dependable.

I know that if anyone can foster a more effective, communicative and supportive BOE, it is Duke Dineen. Darien would benefit from his experience and commitment. Liz Whitney
