To the editor:

Seniors age 65 and older comprise 12 percent of Darien’s residents.

Darien's seniors worry that escalating taxes would preclude their continuing to live in their Darien homes through their retirement years.

As a candidate for Selectman, Spencer MacIlmurray is concerned as Hartford continues to hammer Fairfield County with taxes designed to support the burgeoning state budget with little concern for Darien and its seniors.

How many of our senior residents have already left Darien because of escalating taxes?

On November 3, I hope you will vote Macllmurray to our Board of Selectmen. and work with our existing team to keep Darien affordable for seniors.
