DARIEN, Conn. — A Darien man was charged with violating a protective order after officers responded to an abandoned 911 call at a home in town, police said.

At 10:25 a.m. Nov. 15, officers went to an unidentified home and spoke to the victim of a domestic incident, police said.

The victim told officers that Christopher H. McGovern, 55, of Darien, had knocked several items off of the counter in anger when the victim refused to speak to him about selling the house, police said.

The victim also said that McGovern had done several other minor things with the intention of annoying the victim, police said.

Officers verified that there was an active protective order between the victim and McGovern, police said.

Based on the investigation, officers placed McGovern under arrest on a charge of criminal violation of a protective order. He was transported to headquarters, where he was processed.

McGovern was released on $10,000 bond for a Nov. 16 appearance in Stamford Superior Court.
