On Wednesday, Nov. 12, a landscape worker at St. Francis Church called police and said a man dressed all in black had stolen a backpack leaf blower from the church grounds.
The worker chased the suspect but was unable to catch him, the Forum said.
Two officers searching the Ridge Road area for the suspect apprehended Pablo Garcia Jr., 22, of Bridgeport, the Forum said.
After he was positively identified by the worker, Garcia was charged with fifth-degree larceny and interfering with a police officer. He was released on a promise to appear in court.
