David Shavers, 22, was charged with the murder of Cadell Moore and is being held $750,000 bond, police said.

On the morning of Aug. 24, Shavers drove to Sixth Street and opened fire on a group sitting on a home porch, police said.

Moore was working on his car in front of the house and was shot in the head and killed, police said.

There was no evidence that Shavers had a direct relationship with Moore or that Moore was the intended target, police said.

“Thank you to all of the officers and detectives that worked on this case led by Detective (Martin) Heanue,” said Lt. Christopher LaMaine. “Specifically, members of the Gang Task Force did great work assisting the Homicide Unit.”
