Bridgeport Woman Charged With Murder After Shooting In Domestic Dispute

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- A Bridgeport woman has been charged with murder after fatally shooting her boyfriend early Sunday after a domestic dispute, police told NBC Connecticut

Grisselle Pizarro, 36, was charged with murder and unlawful discharge of a firearm in the fatal shooting of Jacob Lopez at about 1:15 a.m. Sunday, NBC Connecticut said.

Bridgeport police officers found Lopez on Huntington Turnpike with a gunshot wound to the chest, NBC said. He was transported to Bridgeport Hospital, where was pronounced dead.

Detectives located Pizarro at her home, and she confessed that she had shot Lopez after he physically assaulted her, NBC said. 

Bridgeport police said the shooting remains under investigation.
