DARIEN, Conn. -- Darien police are looking for the person who used counterfeit bills at three Tokeneke Road shops on April 1 to try and purchase everything from books to non-alcoholic wine, according to the Darien Times.
Police told the Darien Times that employees at Johnny's Records, Sono Bakery and Townhouse Fines, all reported receiving the bills from a Latina woman with black hair, wearing a red top and black pants. The owner of Townhouse Fines said she did not accept the money, said the Darien Times.
At Johnny's Records and Sono Bakery, the woman used the counterfeit $100 bills, buying small items and receiving legal change in return, the Darien Times reported. The suspect was seen leaving the area in a gold Honda Civic, added the Darien Times.
