Darien Home Broken Into With Residents Inside

DARIEN, Conn. – Two men broke into a Darien house Friday afternoon while a ten-year-old girl and her father, who was sleeping, were at home, police said.

The girl was watching television in the family room in the Scout Trail home when she noticed a blue car pull into the driveway and two men she did not recognize get out. They rang the doorbell and knocked on the door, but the girl was frightened and went to wake up her father. When he woke up, he heard banging noises coming from the back of the house.

The father saw a man in the hallway outside the bedroom. He called out to the man, who turned around and left.

The man got in by kicking in a back door, police said. Nothing appears to have been taken.

Both men were described as white, police said. One was six feet tall, thin, and had a Mohawk hair cut. The other was six feet tall with a heavy build and short, dark hair. They were seen driving a blue sedan with tinted windows and possibly a loud exhaust.
