DARIEN, Conn. -- A Darien man was arrested after his neighbors reported he drove over a slow-down sign near their children, according to police.

Marc Devico, 49, of Glenwood Drive was arrested on May 28 and charged with risk of injury to a minor and evading responsibility. He was released on $50 bond and will appear in court June 9.

Officers responded to Glenwood Drive on reports of an erratic driver, police said. They met with a neighbor, who said Devico's truck ran over a slow-down sign and dragged it to his driveway, police said.

The neighbors said their four daughters, ages 2, 6, 10 and 14 years old, were playing hopscotch in the road about 15 feet from sign when the incident happened, according to police reports. The neighbors also reported seeing Devico stumble out of his truck, go into his house and come out a few minutes later to remove the sign from under his truck, police said.

Officers went to Devico's house and saw the sign lying in the driveway a few feet from his car, police said. They spoke with Devico, who had a strong odor of alcohol and glassy, bloodshot eyes, according to police reports. When asked whether he had been drinking, he said he would not answer that question, police said.

Devico told the officers that he ran over the sign because his neighbors annoyed him and that having to drive around the sign created a hazard, according to police reports. He was taken into custody. Police said that while at headquarters he admitted to drinking that day.

I think I will put up a sign on my street and commandeer it for my personal and private use and then call the cops on anyone that dares to drive on that public road that I have claimed.

Would you also handle the situation by mowing down the sign with your huge truck feet away from 4 little kids after you had been drinking 'earlier'? And then go back to the house where you plead guilty to several domestic charges involving your wife who was charged with drug dealing? Cause that would mean you're really a classy, upstanding citizen.
