DARIEN, Conn. – Three New York City men were arrested by Darien police Saturday on felony and misdemeanor charges in connection with credit card fraud, police said.

According to police, Michael D. Harris, 24, of 57th Ave., Corona, tried to buy several items from the CVS pharmacy at 984 Post Road in Darien using a fraudulent credit card. He fled the store before the 2 p.m. transaction was completed, which would have totaled less than $250, police said.

Harris got into a red Nissan Altima with Dave O. Obaseki and Shaquell D. Caldwell, and three drove off, police said. They were apprehended a short distance away, police said.

After stopping the vehicle, police found several fraudulent credit cards in Harris’ and Obaseki’s possession as well as a substantial but undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

Harris and Obaseki were charged with multiple felony counts of possession of illegal/fraudulent credit cards. Harris was also charged with misdemeanor unlawful use of a credit card and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny.

Obaseki, 22, of 217th St., Cambria Heights, and Caldwell, 22, of 57th St., Corona, were additionally charged with misdemeanor conspiracy to unlawful use of a credit card and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny.

All three were released after each posted $25,000 bond, and they are scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on March 26.
