The first incident occurred when police received an anonymous tip about an underage party on Tuesday, July 15, at a home on Phillips Lane.

When they arrived at the house, officers could see about 15 people inside, all of whom appeared to be underage, according to police reports.

Three young men who were standing in front of the garage holding beer cans ran when they saw the officers, police said. The officers also could hear shouting inside the house before the lights were turned out, police said.

The home's 21-year-old resident met with officers and said he did not want them to enter the house, police said. The officers told him they were required to enter to check on the welfare of any minors who could be inside, according to police reports.

Inside they found numerous red cups with beer, empty cans and bottles, a beer pong table and numerous underage people, police said.

The minors were released to their parents, and the resident was arrested and charged with providing alcohol to minors. He was released on $1,000 bond and will appear in court July 25.

The second incident occurred on Saturday at a home on Weeburn Lane.

A taxi driver called police to complain about a young girl who had skipped out on a fare. The driver told police he had picked her up outside the Weeburn Lane home, where he also had declined a fare because some youths tried to put a cooler in the car.

When officers arrived at the home, the lights were out and nobody answered the doorbell, according to police reports.

They believed people were inside and wanted to check on the welfare of any underage drinkers, according to police reports. They found an unlocked back door and entered, police said.

The officers met with a 20-year-old resident who said that he had hosted a small party for friends and didn't know who brought the beer, police said. Police said he appeared intoxicated.

Inside the officers found several empty 30 packs of beer as well as empty rum and vodka bottles, police said. They found several underage partygoers hiding in a laundry room closet and more hiding in the bedroom closets, police said.

The underage drinkers were released to their parents. The host was arrested, charged with providing alcohol to minors, and released on a promise to appear in court July 29.
