Police were canvassing the neighborhood in connection with another case when they discovered that two cars in the same driveway had been entered. The owners were unaware prior to being asked to check their vehicles by officers.
The first vehicle had the glove box broken off its hinges, and the contents were strewn about the interior of the car. The owner told officers that he didn't believe anything was missing. The second vehicle had the glove box opened, and the contents were pulled out, police said. The owner also said he didn't think anything was taken.
Both vehicles had been left unlocked overnight, police said. Detectives processed the scene for evidence, and the investigation is ongoing.
