Darien Police Put Down Injured Coyote

DARIEN, Conn. -- Darien police reported that a coyote had to be put down after getting hit by a car last week.

A coyote that appeared to have been hit by a car was found and put down on the Woodway Country Club golf course in Darien, police said.

Police received a report on Tuesday, Nov. 4. at 6:40 p.m. that there was an injured coyote in the road on Hoyt Street. Officers responded to the area and were able to locate the coyote on the golf course of the nearby Woodway Country Club. The coyote appeared to have been hit by a car, police said. Its legs were broken and it was dragging its lower body across the ground. It was put down on the scene.

Police said that the coyote did not have any contact with humans or domestic pets.
