DARIEN, Conn. — A would-be burglar cut the power to the home of a 79-year-old Darien woman, then kicked in her front door while she was home, according to the Darien Times.
Her alarm went off during the attempted burglary, which occurred at 5:45 p.m. Dec. 10 on Highfield Lane, police told the Darien Times.
She spotted a man running out the front door, but a police search turned up no suspects, the Darien Times said.
Police are investigating the incident, in which the electrical service meter was ripped off the house, the Times said.
