Darien Police Welcome Newest Officer Luis Moura To The Force

DARIEN, Conn. -- Probationary Officer Luis Moura is beginning his first patrol shift with the Darien Police Department.

Moura comes to Darien from the Bridgeport Police Department, where he had been employed as a certified officer for the past three years. His Field Training Officer is Michael Dos Santos, was also a Bridgeport Police Officer who has now been with the Darien Police Department for almost four years.

Moura will undergo a modified Field Training Program over the next three weeks. A native of Bridgeport, Moura holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from Southern Connecticut State University. He is a member of the Vasca Da Gama Portuguese/American Club and has strong interests in soccer, hockey and running.

As a police officer in Bridgeport, Moura was a recipient of the Bridgeport Police Community Service Award and also received the Merit Award for a recent arrest. Once successfully completing his field training, Moura will be assigned to a uniformed patrol squad.
